Ingredients

  •  4 large eggs, room temperature  

  • 2 cups sugar

  •  1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour  

  • 2 ¼ tsp baking powder

  • 1 ¼ tsp baking powder  

  • 1 ¼ cups milk

  • 10 tbsp butter, cubed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat the eggs on high speed for 5 minutes or until thick and lemon colored.

  2. Gradually add sugar, beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla, combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to the batter, beating on low speed until smooth.

  3. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter just until butter is melted. Gradually add the batter and beat until combined.

  4. Pour in greased 13 x 9 in. baking pan, bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
